A new house on bare ground, and a lot of rock in the way.
The Challenge
A new build on a Hill Country ranch, sitting on open ground with nothing tying it to the land. And underneath all of it, rock — the kind that turns every tree pit and every trench into its own excavation. Everything the property needed had to get through that first.
What We Built
Grading and excavation across the site, through rock
Retaining walls and terracing
Drainage swale and subsurface drain lines
Automatic drip irrigation with WiFi clock and flow meter
Concrete flatwork, walkways, and patios
Sunken smokeless fire pit — formed, laid up, and capped in stone
Custom gas fire feature
Custom welded raised planter boxes
Natural boulders, set by excavator
Deer fencing, ranch rail, and ornamental iron — plus automatic gates
Landscape lighting
Native and adapted planting, with trees set into cut rock
WHY WE OWN OUR EQUIPMENT
Hill Country ground is rock, and the wrong machine turns a day's work into a week.
We run top-of-the-line equipment built for exactly what we do. Nothing waits on a rental yard, and nothing gets done
halfway because the right tool wasn't on site. That's how a project finishes on schedule — ours and yours.
Sandy Creek Modern
"These guys did an amazing job on a very complex job. They took a new build on a hill country ranch and completely designed and installed all new landscaping around the house — walls, plantings, irrigation, lighting, fencing, walkways, patios and on and on. We are in the hill country and it is very rocky so high quality equipment is necessary. AOI has their own equipment, as opposed to renting, so it worked much better getting through the rock for tree and plant installation.”
