Path, Step & Walkway Lighting
Path and step lights make walkways, stairs and stepping-stone paths safe to walk after dark and lead guests from the driveway to the door. We place them to light the ground where you walk, not the eyes of the people walking it.
Our Path & Step Lighting Includes:
Path lights along walkways and bed edges
Step and riser lights built into hardscape
Hardscape lights under wall caps and seat walls
Driveway and entry lighting
Lighting around patios, fire features and outdoor living areas
Uplighting & Accent Lighting
Uplighting and accent lighting bring out the best of what's already on your property: a live oak canopy, a stone wall, a water feature, the face of your home. We aim every fixture by hand at night so the light lands exactly where it should.
Our Accent Lighting Includes:
Tree uplighting, and moonlighting from fixtures mounted high in the canopy
Architectural and wall wash lighting
Water feature and pond lighting with submersible low-voltage fixtures
Accent lights for boulders, beds and specimen plants
Security Lighting, Repairs & Upgrades
Good lighting makes a property easier to watch over and easier to come home to. We also service existing low-voltage systems: dim lights at the end of a run, failed connections, cable cut by digging, and old halogen fixtures ready for LED.
Our Security & Service Work Includes:
Security lighting for entries, driveways, gates and dark corners
Troubleshooting and repair of existing low-voltage systems
Halogen to LED upgrades
Transformer replacement and re-sizing
Adding fixtures to an existing system
Re-aiming fixtures and reprogramming timers
Landscape Lighting FAQ
Do you install line-voltage (120-volt) lighting or electrical?
No. We design and install low-voltage landscape lighting. If your project needs a new outdoor outlet or a dedicated 120-volt circuit for the transformer, we coordinate that work with a licensed electrician.
Can you repair or upgrade the lighting system I already have?
Yes. We troubleshoot and repair existing low-voltage systems, upgrade older halogen fixtures to LED, replace or re-size transformers, and add fixtures to an existing layout.
How do the lights turn on and off?
Your system runs on a photocell (dusk to dawn), an astronomic timer that follows sunset, or a smart controller. We program it before we leave and show you how it works.
Can lighting be part of my patio, outdoor kitchen or water feature project?
Yes. As a design-build contractor, we plan and install lighting as part of the same project, under one contract, with our own crews.
Can my lighting be dark sky friendly?
Yes. We can use fully shielded fixtures, warm color temperatures and downward aiming to keep light on your landscape and out of the night sky.
Is there a warranty?
Our installation workmanship is covered for one year. Fixtures and transformers carry the manufacturer's warranty.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Financing is available through our third-party partners. Learn more about financing.
What areas do you serve?
Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Boerne, Dripping Springs, Johnson City, Comfort, Blanco and Marble Falls, and properties across the Texas Hill Country.
LIGHTING DESIGN & TRANSFORMER SIZING
A lighting system is only as good as the plan behind it. Most problems we're called out to fix come from an undersized transformer, too many fixtures on one long wire run, or connections that let water in. We plan around all three before a single fixture goes in the ground.
How We Design Your System:
Warm-white LED fixtures, typically 2700K to 3000K, for a natural look on stone, plants and architecture
Fixture types matched to the job: path lights, uplights, downlights and moonlights, wash lights, step lights, hardscape lights, in-grade well lights and underwater fixtures
Transformers sized so the total fixture load stays at or below 80 percent of rated capacity
Multi-tap transformers and properly sized direct-burial cable, so the last fixture on a run shines like the first
Hub-style wire connections and watertight connectors at every junction
Photocell, astronomic timer or smart controls, with dimming where the fixtures support it
Our Lighting Installation Process
The quality of a lighting job shows up at night, but it's built in daylight: in the layout, the wire runs, the connections and the transformer. We don't cut corners on any of it.
How We Work:
Site visit and consultation: we walk the property with you and talk through what you want to see after dark
Lighting design: fixture types, quantities, color temperature and controls, approved by you before we start
Power: if a new outdoor outlet or dedicated 120-volt circuit is needed, we coordinate it with a licensed electrician
Layout: fixture locations and wire routes marked on site
Installation: wire trenched and buried, transformer mounted, fixtures set and every connection sealed
Night aiming: we aim each fixture after dark and program the controller, with you there when possible
Walkthrough: a record of your fixtures and transformer settings, plus a simple guide to running your system
